Old Fashion Chocolate Malts! 

3/4 cup milk 
2 cups milk chocolate ice cream, softened 
3 tablespoons malted milk (liquid or powder, we like the liquid) 
1/2 cup French vanilla ice cream or coffee ice cream (depends who you serve 'round here!)

Whip up a half pint of whipping cream (or cheat with Cool Whip) 

In blender combine milk, both ice cream flavors and the malt 
Blend until smooth, yet still a bit too thick for a straw!
Pour into well chilled glasses ... the clear glass, well chilled looks extra inviting with the "perspiration" from the malt... that frosted just poured look... dollop with a touch of whipped cream, (just a tiny one). Shaved chocolate, chocolate sprinkles etc. are nice additions to the top of the cream, but not too much... it's the malt we are celebrating~ Yields 2-1/2 cups.

(chopped nuts w/ brown sugar!), sundae sauce - your flavor choice's) or mix! (strawberry w/a touch of butterscotch ??),
Oreo cookies, mini marshmallows, thawed frozen cherries, peanut butter whipped with soft chocolate ... hundreds of "fills" and combos!

It's the sky limit thing, go for it!
Remember that the look is 3/4ths of the glory... mint leaves, cherries, plastic monkey glass holders, old fashion glasses, neon straws (countless items too) can make your wonder a true masterpiece and people will be in "awe"

Ice Cream Recipes for Ice Cream Makers

Chocolate Maple
[1 quart] 
2 cups table cream 
1 cup milk 
1/2 cup cocoa, sifted. 
4 eggs yolks, beaten 
1 1/2 cups maple syrup (amber) 
Mix heat cream and milk, stir in cocoa. Heat just short of boiling. Beat
syrup into egg yolks. Stir hot milk/cocoa in to eggs. 
Cool. Add to your ice cream maker & create!

Lemon Ice Cream

3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla 
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 qts. milk
1 cup cream
1 tbs. lemon flavoring

Beat the eggs until light. Add the sugar and continue beating until smooth. Add
the cream and the flavorings and mix thoroughly. Add vanilla and freeze. When
the desired consistency, remove the paddle and pack the ice cream in salt and
ice mixture. One quart of crushed strawberries (sweetened) may be added to the
ice cream if desired, or the plain ice cream is delicious served with chocolate

 
French-style Vanilla Ice Cream

4 egg yolks
4 egg whites
1 1/2 cups sugar 
6 cups light cream or half and half
2 tbs. vanilla extract

Beat yolks until foamy... gradually add 3/4 cup sugar: beat until thickened . In a
large bowl, beat whites until soft peeks form. Fold egg yolk mixture into egg
whites. STIR IN cream and remaining 3/4 cup sugar. Transfer to 3-quart saucepan
ant cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture coats a spoon. Do
not boil! Add vanilla, chill thoroughly. Freeze. (Makes 3 quarts)

Well, pick something small you'd like to do that you've never done. It might be as small as buying yourself an ice cream in the middle of the workweek. Something out of character for you, but something you'd like to do. We are not asking you to go out and scale the tallest mountain. We are asking if you'd like to have an ice cream. We are asking if you'd like to take that first conscious step.

Cool Ideas / Serving Suggestions:

• Scoop ice cream in sundae glasses and sprinkle with finely chopped walnuts.

• Prepare / whip, fresh whipping cream and fold in a bit  of one or two  of your favorites),  
  splash of rum, fresh shaved coconut flakes, a bit of your freshly created ice cream, drop or two of butterscotch extract, (or lemon etc), a touch of nutmeg etc. Dollop the flavored whipping over ice cream and serve.

• Place two or three lady fingers on a dish w/at least a small rim round it. Scoop one or two small servings (about 1/2 scoop rounded) onto the lady fingers creating your own geometric look/style. Blend together; one cup (depending on your guest numbers), chocolate sundae sauce and a touch/splash of rum, until smooth. Drizzle/wave over the ice cream and lady fingers, serve immediately.

Toasted Hazelnut 
Frozen Yogurt

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 1/2 hour 

1/3 cup chopped hazelnuts
1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons hazelnut liqueur
1 pint nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt, 
softened
4 tablespoons chocolate syrup

1) In a small dry skillet, toast hazelnuts
over low heat, stirring constantly, until
fragrant, about 5 minutes. Let cool.
2) In a small food processor or blender,
grind nuts and brown sugar, scraping down
sides as necessary, until mixture forms a
thick paste. Place in a mixing bowl and
stir in liqueur.
3) Add frozen yogurt to the bowl. Use a potato
masher to mix in the nut paste. Cover and freeze
for 15 minutes, or until ready to serve.
4) Scoop frozen yogurt into 4 serving dishes and
top with chocolate syrup, if desired. Serve 
immediately. Makes about 2 cups.
